HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!
Whether you are single and looking to treat yourself to a nice day or need to plan something with your partner, there are a number of different ways to enjoy the day.
In regards to food, oysters have always been the epitome of Valentine’s Day luxury, dating back as far as the 19th century. Chocolates are another classic but keep in mind that quality and ethical sourcing are more romantic than a pretty bow. There are plenty of Valentine’s recipes to be found for your partner, even going so far as a heart-shaped pizza.
Cocktails are always romantic and the best way to kick off an evening would be with one, or three, depending on how alone you feel.
If you’re in need of some sappy tunes to get the romance going, Spotify has compiled a list of the 20 most romantic songs. So head on over and start downloading.
Then of course, there is the long standing tradition of Valentine’s cards and flowers which all started with the Victorians. An estimated 50 million roses are given out on Valentine’s Day every year so if you’re looking for the simple option, that’s the best bet.
If you’re someone today who will not be receiving any cards, flowers or gifts, then there is still hope. You could try your hand at one of the many different dating apps designed to find love. Alternatively, you could decide to go stag, treat yourself to some wine, pizza and a Disney movie, and be thankful you don’t have to be one of the poor people who are expected to spend a fortune on the most romantic day of the year.
