Tori Kelly has paid tribute to her friend Christina Grimmie with the release of a new song.
The 23-year-old singer debuted Blink of an Eye on her YouTube channel this week. The song was written with her friend singer-songwriter Zac Poor, and was inspired after Grimmie was killed at a meet-and-greet last month when an obsessed fan drew a gun and shot her.
“My heart was and is still so heavy when I think of her not being with us,” Kelly wrote in her YouTube description of the video.
“However, I am still comforted knowing that I’ll get to see her again someday in heaven. My prayers go out to her family and loved ones.”
Since she started writing the song, she said it has taken on a bigger meaning as there has been an onslaught of attacks around the world.
