There have been rumours that model Samantha Harris has married Luke Hunt since his release from jail and she has cleared them up.
The 26-year-old has revealed that they actually married two years ago.
In an interview with Marie Claire, she said that they wed in secret a couple of months before he began his sentence in 2014 and that the ceremony was very low-key.
“It was more like a family gathering or a Christmas dinner, full of love and support,” Harris said.
Harris explained that the low-key wedding was “out of respect” for the family of Kenneth Lay, an elderly man who died in a car crash which Hunt was responsible for.
Lay died when their cars collided in Narraweena, in Sydney’s northern suburbs. When it was revealed that Hunt had been driving at 95km/h in a 60 km/h zone, he was sentenced to four years in jail but served two years.
After Hunt was released from jail, the couple enjoyed a belated honeymoon, spending a night at the Shangri La Hotel with dinner at Tetsuya’s Restaurant in Sydney.
“I was in shock … It was like the honeymoon we never had,” Harris said.
