ALF Star Michu Meszaros Dead at 76

Michu Meszaros

Michu MeszarosThe man behind everyone’s favourite Alien Life Form from the eighties, ALF, has died after being rushed to an LA hospital last week.

Michu Meszaros was found unresponsive in his home in California and had been in a coma since.

He had been suffering from health issues since he had a stroke eight years ago, and doctors were left strict instructions by the star not to turn off the life support machine.

The Hungarian performer started life as a circus performer when he was a teenager. As he was only 84 cm tall, he had been dubbed “the smallest man on earth.”

He joined the American circus company Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey in the ’70s.

Michael Jackson became good friends with Meszaros after he saw one of his performances and TMZ reports, he was a regular at Neverland Ranch.

He was also there for Jackson during his courtship to Lisa Marie Presley and knew the pop star’s children.

Meszaros landed the role of ALF in the ’80s and would only wear the full body suit if needed. Most of the shots were from the waist up and as the suit was hot to wear, a bit of breathing room from below helped make the recordings more bearable for the actor.

He kept working up until last year when he appeared as a leprechaun in the short film Death To Cupid.

His longtime manager Dennis Varga has set up a GoFundMe page to pay for the 76-year-old’s funeral and medical bills.
