They were said to have swapped phone numbers after flirting at a concert in Los Angeles earlier this month but it seems rumours of a romance between Selena Gomez and Hunter Hayes are false.
A source close to the pair claims they don’t actually know each other that well and they are simply acquaintances.
The insider told HollywoodLife.com: “They are not dating and nobody should expect that they will be a couple ever or anytime soon. Strictly friendly at best!”
The pair were said to have grown close though.
And it seems that if Hunter does actually have his sights set on Selena, he may have competition in the form of her ex Justin Bieber – he is said to be desperate to win the actress back.
But Selena is said to be ignoring Justin and is instead working hard on her new film “Spring Breakers”.
However, Justin may not be doing the best job of getting in Selena’s good books again as he was reportedly seen hanging out with a mystery girl backstage at his London gig this week.
