As a friend to many Game of Thrones fanatics, I have learnt how to restrain myself from revealing any spoilers I may have accidentally come across on the internet, for fear of my own life.
So if you haven’t seen the new teaser for Season Six featuring Jon Snow, you should go watch it and then come back to read this article.
The 40-second spot begins with Jon Snow, very much alive, which could be confusing for all of those who’ve seen June’s bloody finale. The video starts with a deep, aged voice saying “…the past is already written, and the ink is dry,” with an intense montage of some of the show’s most memorable moments.
“They have no idea what’s going to happen,” a different voice taunts us as we pull our hair out in either frustration or confusion because of Bran Stark’s sudden appearance after missing Season Five.
Rumours have been flying around claiming that Jon Snow either survived the attack or may come back from the dead. But HBO programming president Michael Lombardo quickly put the theories to a rest in June during the Television Critics Association press tour.
“Dead is dead is dead is dead,” he said. “He be dead. Yes. Everything I’ve seen and heard and read, Jon Snow is indeed dead.”
HBO will be showing the new series of Game of Thrones in April 2016.
