Drew Barrymore and husband Will Kopelman are divorcing after four years of marriage.
“They have been having some difficulties, but they remain close for the sake of their kids,” a source said.
Barrymore and Kopelman, an art consultant, have two daughters – Olive, 3 and Frankie, 2.
The couple confirmed the news in a statement.
“Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family,” they said.
“Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on.”
A day before the news broke, she had tattooed her children’s names on the inside of her right wrist.
She posted a photo of the tattoo on instagram with the caption, “Getting a great little lifetime note on my arm.”
The couple have separated and plan to divorce in the next few months.
