Many people have expressed concern and sheer horror after Caitlyn Jenner offered to be America’s “trans ambassador” if Ted Cruz were elected as president.
“I think he’s very conservative and a great constitutionalist and a very articulate man. But I also think he’s an evangelical Christian, and probably one of the worst ones when it comes to trans issues,” Jenner explained.
Previously, the Texan senator claimed that the federal government’s support for gender neutral bathrooms was “lunacy.”
Jenner, who has become one of the most visible trans women in the world, is often criticised for her own lack of understanding when it comes to trans issues. Many believe that her many years as a privileged white male do not reflect the experiences most trans people go through.
Despite this, Jenner offered to be the “trans ambassador to the president of the United States” and would bring in the girls from her show I Am Cait onto a trans advisory board.
Jenner later explained that she was a proud Republican and stated that she wants “every trans person to have a job.”
Meanwhile, trans activist Cherno Biko claimed that Jenner’s political comments were “dangerous” and said that “we simply cannot afford to have Caitlyn Jenner supporting people who hate us.”
