Adele and The Weeknd were the major winners at the Billboard Music Awards this year.
British singer Adele, who was absent due to being on her European tour, won five awards including top artist, top female artist and top Billboard 200 artist.
She also debuted her latest single Send My Love (To Your New Lover) at the star studded event.
Canadian singer The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, won eight awards – more than any other male artist in Billboard history.
Celine Dion was recognised with a lifetime achievement award, presented by her son Rene Charles.
She performed Queen’s The Show Must Go On before dedicating the award to her husband Rene Angelil, who unfortunately died of cancer in January.
The ceremony closed with a tribute to Prince by Madonna, who performed his song Nothing Compares 2 U before being joined by Stevie Wonder for a rendition of Purple Rain.
There were also performances by Britney Spears, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Meghan Trainor and Demi Lovato.
