Actress Alicia Vikander is set to star as Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider film series.
The prequel, which is being developed by Warner Bros, introduces viewers to Lara Croft as a yet-untested raider who is going on her first adventure.
Angelina Jolie played the Square Enix heroine in the 2001 film adaptation.
Although Vikander has had a fairly short career, she has proven to be an inspiring and capable actress.
She gave an excellent performance in the film Ex Machina.
Roar Uthaug, who directed the widely acclaimed thriller The Wave, will be directing the film series.
